A 60-year-old male motorcyclist died following a collision with a car on the A72 near Innerleithen yesterday afternoon. (Saturday April 23 2022)
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.50pm.
The road was closed for around six-hours to facilitate a thorough investigation.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called around 3.50pm on Saturday, 23 April, following reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike on the A72 near Innerleithen.
"Emergency services attended and a 60-year-old man, the motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.
"The road reopened after a six hour closure."
The man has not been named at this time.
