THE 2022 Kings of the Sevens Jed-Forest won their own tournament at Riverside Park on Saturday.
And in doing so they racked up a record number of points despite there only being nine rounds this year instead of the normal 10.
The Jed tournament is always a traditional 16 team straight knock out format made up of Scottish club sides only, with a Borders v City format in Round 1 with four seeded teams.
Jed reached the final with wins over Biggar and Kelso and Melrose.
They faced Edinburgh Accies who took an early lead before Jed put them to the sword with tries from Gary Munro, Lewis Young (2) and Rory Marshall which were all converted by Munro to ensure the Jed Challenge Cup first played for 100-years ago returned to the Riverside.
The full results were: First Round - Melrose 28 Musselburgh 5 - Hawick 21 Currie 14 -Jed-Forest 31 Biggar 0 - Kelso 29 Boroughmuir 7 - Peebles 5 Edinburgh Accies 42 - Selkirk 28 Highland 12 - Gala 24 Berwick 10 - Langholm 10 Watsonians 45
