Spurs Ride at Stobo

THE Common Riding season has now come to an end, and was marked by the principals from Peebles, West Linton and Biggar taking one final ride this summer.
On Saturday (August 27) Peebles Cornet Iain Mitchell, Biggar Cornet Michael Allen, and West Linton Whipman Gregor Brown rode out from their towns to Stobo Hope with members of their principal parties and guests.
At Stobo Hope the principals took part in the traditional exchanging of spurs.
This was the first time the annual event had taken place after a two-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic which also saw the towns' festivals postponed or moved online.
