PEEBLES and Borders Clan Rugby members Stu and Matt McDonald and Kieran Dewar have collected there Raleri Rugby Goggles from David Davidson at 2020 Opticians in Peebles.

Clan Rugby is an inclusive version of the game that allows differentiation between players of different impairments and disabilities to take part in the game.

The players have been stalwart Clan members since their first training session in 2019.

David Davidson from 2020 Opticians said: “The ‘Goggles are flexible and robust for the rough and tumble of the game.

And knowing Stu, Matt and Kieran they will certainly put them through their paces”.

The Clan were able to purchase the goggles with the support of Scottish Borders Council Community Grant Fund, and they would like to thank SBC and Hannah Lacon for enabling the players to play with the World Rugby certified goggles.

The Clan season began with a training session at the Peebles 7’s and built to games against a Scottish Select at Hawick Festival of Rugby and a Clan first with Peebles V Hawick before the final of the Maroon'd at Gala.

Their next training session is in Hawick on Sunday 2nd October.

It is a friendly squad who are always looking for players (those with impairment or disability) and enablers (adults who help playing on the pitch).
