A 33-YEAR-OLD man turned up at his partner’s home and demanded to use her mobile phone as he needed to contact someone.
But an argument ensued with his partner and her mother with Brian Pollock shouting and swearing and smashing a window causing £1,000 worth of damage.
Pollock pleaded guilty to threatening or abusive behaviour at a house in Newtown St Boswells on September 20.

Defence lawyer Liam Alexander explained his client’s mobile phone was unable to make outward calls and had wanted to use his partner’s as he was getting an offer of employment but got frustrated when he felt he was being ignored.
He added: “He accepts his conduct was unacceptable.”
Pollock was fined £100 with £10 victim surcharge and ordered to pay £500 in compensation to his partner’s mother for the broken window.
A two year non-harassment order was also imposed forbidding Pollock from having any contact with his partner’s mother.
