FOSTER carers from across the Borders have been thanked for their hard work and dedication to children and young people.
The acknowledgement was given at this year’s Foster Care Conference, held by Scottish Borders Council at Tweed Horizons, which had more than 60 attendees.
In addition, carers with five, 10, 15 and more than 20 years’ service were presented with a certificate in recognition of their ongoing support for youngsters.
Among those attending were Angela and Stephen O’Callaghan who have been foster carers for 12 years. They said: “Today’s conference was a wonderful opportunity to get together with fellow foster carers and other agencies.
“This year’s theme of ‘Happy Minds, Happy Homes’ is what we believe is at the heart of what foster carers strive to do every day.
“The event also highlighted the importance of working together, being a workforce and above all ensuring our children and young people remain at the very centre of every decision and action we make.”
