A PEEBLESSHIRE dance school will be one of more than 3,000 performers to take to the stage in Scotland's capital this summer.

Dancers from the Fiona Henderson School of Dance (FHSD) will once again showcase their talents to audiences at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

'Origins' – the show senior dancers will perform at Surgeon's Hall in August – will see students prepare in a unique way.

Senior FHSD dancers will spend the week leading up to their August 14 performance in intensive dance workshops to learn the choreography for Origins.

From 9am-5pm each day, the dancers will work with FHSD teachers as well as guest choreographers to learn the steps to new dance pieces and be stage-ready.

School principal Fiona Henderson said: “We are thrilled to be performing at the Festival Fringe again.

"There is something special about being part of the world’s largest arts festival.

"This year we are also delighted to moving to a new performance venue – the largest stage at the Surgeon’s Hall complex – this will give our choreographers and dancers more space for their performances."

The Fiona Henderson School of Dance has been a UK Dance School of the Year winner, and currently offers classes in a range of styles for students of all ages and abilities.

FHSD offers classes at its studios in Peebles, Biggar, Hawick, Moffat, and Kelso.

Origins will be performed at the SpaceTriplex at Surgeon's Hall on Monday, August 14 at 11.45am.
