AN EVENTS company in the Borders is doing its bit to help support a free music event in the region later this year.

Good Vibes Disco joined the first BordersFest in Galashiels last September where it hosted a silent disco.

As well as bringing the disco back, the business will host a new event next month to help with the festival’s fundraising efforts.

The Musical Bingo event at the Volunteer Hall, in Galashiels, will be the first event of its kind held by Good Vibes Disco.

When asked what people can expect from Musical Bingo, Joyce Adamson from Good Vibes Disco said it will be “a fun night with a difference”.

Open to over 18s only, the games of bingo will be slightly different to those most have played before.

Instead of listening out for numbers, players will hear a 10 second clip of a song and will have to cross the artist name or song off of their card.

Joyce added: “There have been quite a lot of bingo things [in the Borders] recently.

“Usually at bingo you have to be quiet, but at our event you are encouraged to sing along. The focus is on having fun.”

Bill Jeffrey, founder of BordersFest is hoping to host the event agian in the Public Park in Galashiels on September 9 and 10.

In order to do so he needs to raise £5,000 to put on the free spectacle.

Currently, just over £600 has been raised.

On Good Vibes Disco’s support he said: “Joyce and Owen are brilliant, always the first to step forward to lend a helping hand. Last year, they brought their Silent Disco to the festival free of charge, and Owen helped push our boat over the Eildon’s.

“This event wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for people like these guys who put the event before their own personal gain.

“We live in a fantastic, beautiful place with a population of selfless people who are willing to help make good things happen in our region. Really proud to know these guys.”

Tickets for Musical Bingo on Saturday, August 5 from 7.30pm-12am, are £10 and can be booked by contacting Good Vibes Disco over Facebook Messenger.
