THE MacArts Theatre in Galashiels has an eclectic selection of shows in August to suit every taste - opera, classic rock, epic lo-fi and so much more.

On Friday August 11 Edinburgh indie band Meursault come to the Borders to celebrate the release of their fantastic new self-titled album. Their music has been called epic lo-fi and their mixture of soaring vocals, moving lyrics and intricate compositions will find a perfect home in our atmospheric venue.

On Wednesday August 16 Opera Bohemia return to MacArts with John Leo Wilkie’s acclaimed chamber production of Puccini’s masterpiece Madama Butterfly. An all-star cast is led by Scottish soprano Catriona Clark, a favourite with Opera Bohemia audiences and already highly acclaimed in the role of Cio-Cio-San.

On Saturday August 19 Mixing 70s blues rock with queer feminist pop, Megan Black comes to MacArts riding the crest of a wave. She has won awards in LA and San Francisco and recently released a single that Discovery Music Scotland called "a potentially great standalone queer anthem in the making".

On Tuesday August 22 fans can prepare for an extraordinary Celtic music experience that promises to transport you back in time to the heart of Scotland's rugged landscape. Feel the spirits awaken within you as historic tales accompany an extended and dynamic show that rises and falls between primal energy and inspiring traditional songs.

On Wednesday Augst 23 Clearwater Creedence Revival are the best celebration of the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Fogerty you’ll ever see and they have delighted sellout audiences all over the world. Playing hits like 'Fortunate Son' and 'Bad Moon Rising' with passion and skill, this is a tribute band like no other!

On Thursday August 24 Fleetwood Bac are the world’s first and best Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself, they authentically replicate the sound, the look, the mystical splendour and even on-stage chemistry of the original band.
