A YELLOW weather warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms will be in place for some eastern parts of the Scottish Borders from 3pm today (Friday August 25) to 9am tomorrow (Saturday August 26)
This may lead to some flooding and travel disruption according to The Met Office.

⛈️ The Met Office has issued a YELLOW WEATHER WARNING for THUNDERSTORMS.
ℹ️ From 12:00 - 20:00 today (25/08) for the north, and from 15:00 today (25/08) - 09:00 tomorrow (26/08) for the Central Belt.

There is a good chance that driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
Delays to train services are possible.
Some short term loss of power and other services is possible.
And there is a possibility of some damage to a few building and structures from lightning strikes.
