THE details for Tweeddale Peace Group’s annual community second-hand book sale have been announced.

It will take place on Saturday, October 7, and Sunday, October 8, from 10am to 5pm in the Burgh Hall, Peebles.

As always, there will be a vast selection of good quality books for recycling, including children's books, and CDs.

A spokesperson for the group said: “It's a very social, community event and everyone is welcome. All proceeds are donated to peace and justice causes.

“There will be soup, tea, coffee and music, and it's a lovely way to spend part of an autumnal weekend.

“Meet your friends, make new ones, browse through a wide selection of books arranged in sections to make it easy, let your kids discover gems in the kids' section.

“And please bring your own bag. The book sale has been going for more than 30 years and over that time we've raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for peace and justice causes and we've recycled hundreds of thousands of books. Please come and be part of it.”
