A MAJOR Borders road is set to close to allow resurfacing works to take place.
The A7 carriageway in Selkirk at Viewfield Park and north of the town at the B7014 junction will be resurfaced next month.
The overnight closures will take place from Monday, November 13, to Friday, November 17.
The road will be shut from Kingsknowe Roundabout to Selkirk between 7.30pm and 6am.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s south east network manager, said: “These maintenance works on the A7 will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.
“We thank the local community and road users in advance for their patience while we complete this project. Road users should try to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
A signed diversion route will be in place between Selkirk and Kingsknowe Roundabout via the A699, A68 and A6091.
The alternative route will add approximately 9.6 miles and 12 minutes to affected journeys.
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
