THE 1st Peebles Brownies welcomed a well-known guest to their meeting in the Drill Hall, when Tweeddale MP David Mundell dropped in.
The Conservative politician gave a talk about democracy and the work of a constituency member in the UK Parliament.

Mr Mundell said afterwards: “It was a privilege to be invited to speak to the brownies, also meet their volunteer leaders and learn more about this excellent organisation.
“The children, aged between seven and ten, were keen to learn more about Westminster and asked me a variety of well thought through, sometimes incisive, questions.”
