Two people were taken to hospital following a crash on the A6094 road earlier today.

The road was closed in both directions following the two-vehicle crash.

Police were made aware of the collision at around 12.45pm on Wednesday, November 29, and are currently in attendance on the road between Howgate and Rosewell.

Police Scotland Midlothian posted about the crash on their social media channels, saying: "The A6094 between Howgate and Rosewell is closed due to a crash. Please use an alternative route."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.45pm on Wednesday, 29 November, 2023, officers received a report of a two vehicle crash on the A6094 near Howgate. Emergency services are in attendance.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12:42 to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A6094.

"Two ambulances, a special operations response team (SORT) and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene and two patients were transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.”
