THE MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy and persistent rainfall covering most of the Scottish Borders..
The warning comes into effect at 9am today Tuesday December 12 and runs through to 3am tomorrow Wednesday December 13.

The rain may lead to some flooding of roads and properties.
And there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings

Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
It is safer not to drive in these conditions but if you must drive you can do this more safely by:
Slowing down
Using main roads
Using dipped headlights
Giving yourself more time to react on slippery surfaces
Keeping a bigger gap between vehicles
