A ‘PUNK’ pizza takeaway could be on the menu in Peebles if a town youth group receives the green light from Scottish Borders Council planners.
Tweeddale Youth Action has submitted a planning application to SBC to use the Central Baguette premises in the High Street to sell artisan pizzas during the day, as well as early evening during the summer months.
This project extends Tweeddale Youth Action’s existing Food Punks project, supporting young people’s employability through hospitality and catering training.
It is a charity (SCIO) which has been delivering youth work activities and support within Tweeddale for more than 20 years.
A submission with the application says: “We would like the graphics and design to be bold and youth friendly, featuring our Food Punks Project Pizza logo.
“Our Food Punks project was established 10 years ago to support learning and training opportunities for young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
“We have a strong track record of supporting young people into positive destinations and Food Punks income supports our aim of reducing our dependence on grant funding.”
