IT’S “full steam ahead” for a proposed pizza takeaway outlet in Peebles despite a planning bid being withdrawn.
Tweeddale Youth Action had submitted a certificate of lawfulness bid to Scottish Borders Council (SBC) to use the Central Baguette premises in the High Street to sell artisan pizzas during the day, as well as early evening during the summer months.
This application sought to extend the existing Food Punks project, supporting young people’s employability through hospitality and catering training.
But late last week the original application was withdrawn from SBC’s planning portal.
Now it has now emerged that the withdrawal was merely a technicality and that a new revised application is soon to be submitted.
The project’s locality manager Dave Hodson said: “We have withdrawn our application for certificate of lawfulness but we will shortly submit our application for change of use. Full steam ahead still for us.”
