REED beds at Leeburn View by Cardrona village will be refurbished next month by Scottish Water.

Work starting in the first week of February will last 14 weeks and be contained within the existing site.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “The reed beds form part of the wastewater treatment works for Cardrona and are an effective sustainable treatment method.

“Site access to the area will be via Cardrona Way and Leeburn View and residents will see an increase in site and heavy goods vehicles.

“Following site set up we would expect 18 HGVs per day to clear the area and this will last three days, towards the end of the works there will be the same number of vehicles coming and going for about 10 days.”
