A NUMBER of roads have been closed in the Borders as Storm Isha batters the region.

The A68 at Jedwater Bridge remains shut in both directions due to flooding after the river burst its banks, according to Traffic Scotland.

The major road was closed at the bridge last night, with the latest update coming just before 8am.

Meanwhile, the council said that flooding and fallen trees had impacted smaller roads in the region.

There was a report of a tree blocking the road on the C77 Langshaw road which Scottish Borders Council (SBC) said was “being investigated”.

The local authority said the same about the A708 Selkirk to Nest roundabout.

It added that the B712 at Dawyck was closed due to flooding, as was the D1/3 Craik Road.

Flooding has also shut the B6400 at Nisbet, as well as Wilton Park Road, Hawick, and the B709 Ettrick Valley.

The B6399 is closed five miles from Newcastleton due to a fallen tree, according to the council.

It said a fallen tree had also seen the A1107 close north of Coldingham.

All Borders Railway services have been cancelled today (Monday).
