THREE BBC MasterChef finalists are set to show off their culinary skills at Gullane restaurant The Bonnie Badger.

The amateur chefs – last year’s winner Chariya Khattiyot and finalists Omar Foster and Anurag Aggarwal – will join MasterChef guest judge and The Bonnie Badger owner Tom Kitchin next month to create “an exciting menu that is set to come together through a shared love of spice”.

The menu will feature four courses, combining the chefs’ unique culinary styles and showcasing fine ingredients and flavours.

The chefs will also share the stories behind and inspiration for each course as they are presented to diners.

Mr Kitchin joined MasterChef judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode in the penultimate episode of last year’s competition, and was impressed by the finalists’ passion and flavour combinations.

Since the MasterChef final, Chariya has appeared as a judge on MasterChef Thailand and is due to open her first restaurant, Khao Soi by Chariya, in April in Hampshire.

Anurag has been working as a motivational speaker and launched his culinary storytelling experience, Yatra, at restaurants across the UK, while Omar has launched a food consultancy business and is writing his first cookbook documenting his love of experimental Asian cuisine.

The event, which starts with a welcome drink and canapés followed by a four-course dinner and tea or coffee, is priced at £95 per person and takes place on March 21 at 7pm.
