REPORTS have been ordered into a Peebles woman who admitted spitting at police officers.

Twenty-six-year-old Beth Burns pleaded guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court to striking a glass door and damaging it at Glentress on April 30 last year.

Shortly afterwards on the A72 she assaulted a female police constable by kicking her on the body and spitting on her.

At Borders General Hospital Burns assaulted two male police by spitting on them.

She was then taken to Hawick Police Station where she kicked a female constable on the body.

Sheriff Peter Paterson highlighted the offences of spitting at police officers, especially at Borders General Hospital.

He told Burns: "I hope you appreciate these are serious matters."

Sentence was deferred until April 29 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment.
