BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a 59-year-old man who admitted breaking into a house in Stow and stealing a quantity of jewellery.
Gordon Williamson from Dalkeith targeted the property in Galashiels Road on December 5 along with another person.
He also attempted to break into another property in Galashiels Road with intention to steal.
Sheriff Peter Paterson told Williamson that due to his previous convictions he would "realise how perilous his situation was."
Sentence was deferred at Selkirk Sheriff Court until April 29.
