A THIEF has stolen a “quantity of vapes” after smashing a Borders business’ window during an early-morning break-in.

The estimated value of the stolen goods is almost £300, according to police.

The incident is said to have happened on Monday (April 1) at the Semi-Chem store on Kelso’s Roxburgh Street.

Officers said that a person broke an external window and entered the store just before 2.30am.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area, or has been offered vapes to buy, should report this to police via 101.

“Those with information on the incident should quote incident number 0436 of April 1, 2024. An anonymous report can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
