An American action/comedy film released in 2022. It is about 5 groups of assassins with all kinds of motives who get on the same train and begin an epic fight. However, they do not know there is a bigger plot they are all stuck in.

Summary:

The film starts with Ladybug, an unlucky professional assassin, whose mission is to steal a suitcase filled with money. But he quickly realizes other assassins are also here, some of them try to protect the suitcase, some of them want to take the money for themselves, and others want to prove themselves by killing the White Death, the leader of Japan's underworld known for his cruelty and also the owner of the suitcase. Each of them tries to hide their identity and aim while completing their goal.

At the end of the film, Ladybug meets White Death, who manipulates all of them into killing each other. He reveals that it was done as revenge for his dead wife, whom all of them took part in the killing. With the help of other assassins, they defeated the White Death and achieved a happy ending.

Review:

If you are someone like me who prefers more description of characters and the plot, or films with a message behind them, this is not the film you are looking for. However, if you prefer films with many action scenes and dramatic visual effects, I would recommend Bullet Train. Despite having a clear storyline and some suspense, it is more like a mix of different events happening without any depth to the story.

I must add that another selling point of the movie is the combination of Japanese and Western culture. There are quite a few Japanese characters and it also adapts Japanese underworld elements into the background of White Death. The sip of foreign culture adds to the excitement and mysteriousness.

In general, it is a film that does not need to be treated with too much seriousness. If I were to compare it to any movie, it would be the humorous version of John Wick.
