A 36-YEAR-OLD man caught with a Polaroid picture of a girl aged around 13 “in a state of undress” has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Ricky Clift pleaded guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to possessing an indecent image of a child at a house in Kelso between December 2022 and March last year.
Prosecutor India McLean revealed a relative raised the alarm.
She said, when quizzed by police, Clift, from Kelso, accepted he had the photograph and that he had kept it in his wallet.
Sentence has been deferred until next month for background reports.
The length of time Clift’s name will remain on the Sex Offenders Register will be decided when the case recalls on May 20.
