A 37-YEAR-OLD man has made a private court appearance following the discovery of a £150,000 cannabis farm in an empty shop in Galashiels.
Police officers raided the former "Why Not?" store in Channel Street on Thursday and came across a large quantity of cannabis plants.
Erson Shurdha, of no fixed abode, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and also being concerned in the production of a controlled drug.
He is also accused of breaching the Electricity Act 1989.
Shurdha made no plea during the private hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and the case was continued for further examination.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again at Jedburgh Sheriff Court next week.
