A PEEBLESSHIRE choir has been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for a summer of concerts.

During the winter and spring, InChorus has welcomed new members and held a workshop with vocal coach Clare Haworth.

The choir has also developed a new repertoire for the summer.

An InChorus spokesperson said: “Under the supervision of musical director Au Arias and supported by pianist Alastair Disley, the choir rehearses in the Macfarlane hall on Monday evenings.

“If you have a passing interest in joining us then why not pop along, sit at the back and take a listen.

“You’ll get a first-hand feel for the process of polishing and preparing.

“You’ll probably recognise a face or two who is known to you.

“We are a very friendly bunch, in fact just a group of people who live in or near Peebles. Your neighbours in fact.”

The choir will first take a trip to Edinburgh on June 5 to perform at the New Town Church of Scotland (formerly St Andrews and St George’s). This concert, which InChorus will share with a visiting choir from America, will begin at 7.30pm and tickets are free on the door.

Then the choir will head to the Cardrona Summer Fayre on August 3, where they will take to the stage at 2pm.

On Tuesday, August 17 InChorus will return to Edinburgh to perform at St Giles’ Cathedral at 1.30pm.

Then for the autumn season, on Monday, October 21, the choir will perform at the Corn Exchange in Biggar as part of the Biggar Little Festival.
