A MAN has died in a Peeblesshire village, according to police.

Emergency services responded to a report of an unresponsive man in Walkerburn’s Hall Street this afternoon.

The 69-year-old was pronounced dead.

The death is being treated as “unexplained”. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 2.35pm on Thursday, 6 June, 2024, we received a report of an unresponsive man in Hall Street, Walkerburn.  

“Emergency services attended and the 69-year-old man was pronounced dead.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.  A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
