Sir, I was astonished to read in the Peeblesshire News of August 15 that councillor Gavin Logan is claiming that he voted against the removal of the green waste collection from the Scottish Borders.
This is simply untrue. He did no such thing. What he did do was back his group leader’s motion put before the council to have a three-month delay in implementing the policy to give the Tory group more time to come up with an alternative to scrapping the green waste collection.
We are now eight months down the road and still the Tories have not come up with any alternatives to what the administration put forward last December, so come off it councillor Logan tell your constituents what really happened at the meeting and not just figments of your imagination.
I am, etc.
