TEENAGER Jacob Blyth enjoyed mixed fortunes at the weekend.
The Peebles boxer, who fights in the 60kg category, has been outstanding in his first season as an amateur.
Despite suffering a defeat on Friday evening, the 16-year-old returned to the ring the following night for a comprehensive victory.
Jacob has now fought in six bouts since taking up the sport - and he will make it seven this weekend when he travels to Aberdeen.
On Friday the Borders College sports student faced the classy Josh Macdonald of the Nobel Art Boxing Club as part of the Glasgow club's boxing show.
Jacob looked to have won but the decision went to the home boxer.
On Saturday night Jacob was back in action when he proved to be far too much for Travis Frame of the Logan Boxing Club on the card of the St Andrews Boxing Club show.
Jacob faces Haig Clark of the Byron Boxing Club in Aberdeen this weekend in a bid at setting himself up for a shot at the Scottish Intermediate 60Kg Youth title in January.
