BORDERS Under 15s Netball travelled to Linwood at the weekend for the second of three play days in which they take on the top squads across the West and South of Scotland.

Sixteen squads are involved, with the top six qualifying for the play-offs against the top six in the central belt and north of Scotland in March.

Borders U15s were drawn first up against Glasgow A, and after a tight match were unlucky to lose out on the win by one goal, having seen their goal keeper, Carla Latto, falling foul to an ankle injury in the opening minutes, but still maintaining pressure and composure.

The remaining three matches were taken in their stride, with some excellent movement and speed for which Borders players are renowned.

With one play-day left in the new year, Borders U15s look set to qualify for the championship play-offs, which will enable them to defend the Scottish U15 District Title they won last season.

Borders U15s: Jess Mitchell (Capt), Cerys Finn, Nairne Wells, Georgia Harburn, Stephanie Glasgow, Arabella Brett, Mya Davidson, Hannah Sorrell, Carla Latto & Jess Colledge.
