PEEBLES will play Melrose at The Greenyards in the New Year in the final of this season’s Pool matches in the Booker Border League.
Melrose defeated Gala 38-15 at Netherdale on Boxing Day in a game, which doubled up as the Waverley Cup, while Hawick reached the final with a 26-17 win at Jed-Forest.
Melrose had previously defeated Selkirk 31-10, who are also in contention for a place in the final, but Melrose will be looking to retain the title.
The game against Peebles should have been played on January 5, but the Pees will host GHK in a postponed National League game that day.
