THIS season’s Peebles Netball League drew to a close at the weekend, when eight teams, playing in two Divisions, competed in their final league match of the season.
Players from Galashiels, Earlston and Peebles have competed throughout the winter.
The league began back in September, with a round-robin format in which all teams play each other over seven league days.
The results determine Division 1 and Division 2 teams, who then compete for their respective Divisional title.
And this season as ever, the final results were by no means certain, going into the final play day.
There were three teams of the four in Division 2 still in contention, depending on final match results.
In Division 1, the league title appeared to rest on the unusual prospect of the youngest team in the league, the Borders U15 District squad, securing a win against the Hotshots, one of the Stuart Netball Club teams.
Four matches on finals day were all competitive, but wins by the talented Borders U15 squad, and Peebles Storm, secured both titles for this season.
