IT was standing room only on Saturday as Tweeddale Rovers hosted its annual Sportsman's Dinner.

Guest speakers at the Green Tree Hotel were radio football pundit and newspaper columnist Tam Cowan and former Hibernian striker Tam Mcmanus with ex Aberdeen star Stevie Cowan acting as MC.

All 110 tickets for the annual fundraiser were sold out well in advance.

And the packed dinner was treated to a night of hilarious tales and one-liners.

Organiser Tommy Williamson from the Tweeddale Rovers told us: "This turned out to be one of the best dinners we've ever held.

"The speakers were tremendous and everyone had a great night."

The top table guests were sponsors Norman Hopkirk of Tweeddale Motors and Barry Shanks of Melbar Financial Services.

Tweeddale Rovers would like to thank everyone who helped make the night such a success, especially hosts Alan and Lorna Vannan from the Green Tree, the Peebles Hydro, Holland and Sherry, Jewsons of Gala, Travis Perkins and Harbro for donating fantastic raffle prizes, and to everyone who supported the club by attending .
