VALE OF LEITHEN are set to welcome Peebles Rovers to Victoria Park tonight (Tuesday).

The match is one of several pre-season friendlies scheduled over the coming weeks as the team prepare for the Lowland League campaign.

The Vale open the competitive season at home to Cumbernauld Colts on Saturday, July 17 followed by a visit to East Stirlingshire on Wednesday, July 21 and a trip to BSC Glasgow on July 24.

The Old Firm colt teams will visit Victoria Park on Saturday, August 14 (Celtic) and on Boxing Day (Rangers). 

The Vale will travel to Netherdale on New Year’s Day for a Borders derby match against Gala Fairydean Rovers.

The first round of the Scottish Cup will take place on Saturday, September 18.

Manager Chris Anderson said: “With pre-season well under way, everyone is looking forward to the league campaign getting under way.

"This will be our ninth season in the Lowland League having been founding members, and our first priority is to ensure we remain in the league for the tenth season.”
