AN INTERACTIVE Borders map shows the locations of new cases of coronavirus in the region.

The Borders is split into 30 neighbourhoods on the Public Health Scotland tool.

The map displays data from the period July 28-August 3.

According to the map, Hawick Central recorded the most new cases of coronavirus (17) at a seven-day rate per 100,000 of 401.9 during that period.

Eyemouth recorded 13 cases (rate of 371.4), Galashiels North had 10 cases (rate of 266.1) and Chirnside and Area (rate of 227.2) and Duns (rate of 322.9) saw nine cases each.

Jedburgh had eight cases (rate of 209.1), while Kelso North recorded seven cases and a rate of 217.1.

Burnfoot, Langlee, Lauder and Area, Peebles North and Peebles South all recorded case rates of 100-199 per 100,000 of the population.

Berwickshire Central, Berwickshire East, Denholm and Hermitage, Earlston Stow and Clovenfords Area, Hawick North, Melrose and Tweedbank Area, and Tweeddale East Area recorded case rates of 50-99.

Meanwhile, 11 areas – including Selkirk – recorded fewer than three cases during the seven-day period, according to the data.
